OMM were tasked by Nike to design and develop a gamified, online shopping experience to boost sales and member sign-up during the prime holiday season.
Outcome
Quiz Mechanic & Personalised Feed
Consumers could engage with a series of playful 3D question cards, swiping left or right in a gamified, mobile-friendly interaction to arrive at their personalised gift recommendations. We accommodated shoppers in a hurry with a ‘Randomiser’ option, which allowed users to shuffle through broader gifting categories to arrive at their curated shopping feed quicker. At the conclusion of the quiz, consumers were presented with a tailored list of gifting content and recommendations, which they could shop directly in the Nike app or on Nike.com.

Defining Shopper Personas
Collaborating with Nike’s Commercial team, we identified key consumer profiles and the product categories they wanted to target. We then crafted six Shopping personas through strategic copywriting and character design to ensure our final product recommendations struck a chord for every unique user. Based on their responses to questions in the quiz, each consumer was assigned one of six Nike Personas that embodied their preferences and behaviours around clothing, lifestyle and sports. In collaboration with Aura Studios, we created and animated a series of stylised 3D characters, decked out in various Nike products.
Technology
High-performance 3D in WebGL
We opted for WebGL to execute a user experience that blended slick swiping mechanics with interactive 3D graphics, culminating in a visually rich web experience without sacrifices on technical performance.
