Samsung were planning the launch of their latest Galaxy Watch, and sought OMM’s help to create and deploy a digital activation across their brand experiences hubs that celebrated not just the Galaxy Watch, but the entire Samsung product-ecosystem.

Gear Up for the Ride

Players strapped on the Samsung Galaxy Watch, jumped on the fitness bike and put on the Samsung Gear VR headset. Once inside the VR players were greeted by a personalised message to begin the experience.

As players started to cycle, they travelled through several abstract worlds, each one representing a different feature of the Galaxy Watch.

Connecting with Real-time Data

Real-time speed data from the bike was fed to a PC and integrated into the digital experience, meaning the cycling pace directly influenced the speed of movement through the VR environment. The Samsung Galaxy Watch strapped on participants’ wrists continuously tracked their heart rate, which was displayed within the VR interface in real-time, creating a truly immersive and responsive fitness experience.

Concepting & Storyboarding Bespoke Environments

Our team of multidisciplinary designers generated unique concepts for each abstractly-themed environment to visually tell the story of Samsung’s product in a visually captivating way. Ride underwater to discover the water-resistant qualities of Samsung Galaxy Watch, or fly through shining orbs of energy to learn about its battery-boost feature. To deliver a focused and engaging user experience in a 360 VR environment, we storyboarded each world from multiple angles and at precise time stamps.

The experience seamlessly integrated the Galaxy Watch, Gear VR Headset, Galaxy S9, and a Samsung Screen, showcasing the power of the Samsung ecosystem in delivering an immersive, connected experience.
